A good clean copy including the plates but front cover of volume 2 has been bent leaving a vertical but flatcrease across the middle. This is the first book to describe and illustrate all the life stages of British butterfly species. Now the ‘classic' twentieth century work with probably the finest and most comprehensive paintings to have been executed.
